On 20 April 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'Center' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades (coded to Kucheriv Yar) near Dobropillia, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: 1 armored combat vehicle, a pickup truck, a field artillery piece and up to 340 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Vesele, Novopavlivka, Chernihivka, Dobropillia, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Kalynivka and Torske [Russian MoD reported 340 fatalities.
