A local resident told Shwe Phee Myay that a man in Tangyan Township, Northern Shan State, suffered severe injuries after a homemade bomb he was using for fishing exploded in his hands.

The incident occurred around 4:00 PM on April 21 in Man Na village, Kaung San village tract, Tangyan Township.

A family member said, He went to set off a mine to catch fish. He had not thrown it yet when the fuse ignited and it exploded right in his hands. Both of his hands were severed. He also suffered extensive chest injuries, and he is no longer able to see.
