An explosion occurred Sunday night in an apartment building in Malmö. Police believe two objects detonated inside a stairwell.
A man in his 20s has been arrested.
The alarm about a loud bang on Trelleborgsgatan in Malmö was received just before midnight on Sunday night.
Initially, the police stated that no signs of an explosion had been found. However, further investigation revealed minor material damage indicating that an explosion had occurred in the stairwell on a higher floor.
No one was injured in the incident.
Bomb shelter engaged
The National Bomb Squad was called in to secure the site from any unexploded ordnance. Residents of the apartment building were urged to stay in their apartments.
During the day, door knocking will be carried out in the area.
The police tell the newspaper Sydsvenskan that it involves at least one hand grenade.
The crime is classified as public destruction and a violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
