SAA event in Arunachal Pradesh, Tezu, Lohit District area, India on Tue 28th April 2026

On April 28, Arunachal Pradesh Police foiled an armed extortion attempt targeting a National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) project and arrested four persons from Tezu in Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh, reports India TodayNE. The accused, identifying themselves as members of the All Arunachal Pradesh Reformed Delinquent Association (AAPRDA), suspectedly threatened officials and workers at Tidding project site on April 23, demanding money. Following a complaint on April 27, Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act. Acting on intelligence, Police, with assistance from Roing Police, arrested Ngurang John (39), Gangte Hamak (38), Tai Apa (37), and Tassar Kossum (35). During the operation, police seized one Single Barrel Breech Loading (SBBL) gun, one .177 air gun, one .32 MK pistol, 15 live cartridges, one magazine loaded with seven .32 cartridges, and a leather holster containing eight live cartridges.
