On April 28, four members of the Naga Village Guard (NVG) were injured when heavily armed suspected Kuki militants, opened fire on a patrol team at Horei Hill under Ringui village in Ukhrul District of Manipur, reports Imphal Times. NVG alleged the involvement of “narco-terrorists” linked to poppy cultivation and drug trafficking networks in forest areas spanning Ringui, Sirarakhong, and Mullam. The incident triggered panic among villagers and heightened tensions in the hill District.
