On April 27, a suspected bomber was killed in a low-intensity explosion while allegedly planting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a railway track near Bothonia village between Shambu and Rajpura in Patiala District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. The impact of the blast left the body of the accused torn apart at the site. Police recovered wires, explosive material, two motorcycles and a damaged mobile phone from the site. The area was cordoned off and investigations initiated. Police suspect the involvement of more than two accused and stated that specific leads are being pursued.
