The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) cadres took control of a Police post in the Lamji area of Sibi District in Balochistan on April 22, seizing weapons, vehicles and other equipment, reports The Balochistan Post. While claiming responsibility of the attack, the BRG ‘spokesperson’ Dostain Baloch said detained personnel were later released after being warned, adding that cadres also set up a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway where they conducted vehicle searches. He said clashes erupted when Security Forces (SFs) advanced towards the area, with exchanges of fire continuing for a prolonged period and resulting in casualties. Pakistani authorities did not immediately comment.
