On April 17, intelligence agencies in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have averted a major terror threat after arresting three suspected terrorists affiliated with a banned outfit Fitna al-Hindustan during a joint operation in the Lyari area of Karachi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports Aaj TV. According to officials, weapons were recovered from the suspects, including a 30-bore pistol and 18 rounds of ammunition. During initial interrogation, the suspects reportedly revealed plans to carry out a major attack in the city.|On April 10, a civilian, identified as Rehan (32), son of Ghulam Nabi, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in what police suspect to be a targeted killing at the entrance of Farooq-e-Azam Masjid in Sector 5C-1 within the limits of Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Police Station (PS) in Karachi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports The News. According to investigators, Rehan had married around six months ago. Reports indicate that he married a woman he had known since childhood, who was previously married and had a 12-year-old son before her divorce.
