Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack on Adamawa Community By: Zagazola Makama Suspected Boko Haram terrorists in large numbers have attacked Tella Bala village in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, prompting a swift response from troops and local security volunteers. Security sources told Zagazola that the terrorists, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community at about 7:00 p.m. om April 26 and fired sporadically, causing panic among residents. The sources said troops of 232 Battalion, Gombi, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force operatives, quickly mobilised to the scene and engaged the attackers, forcing them to retreat. According to the sources, the extent of damage caused during the attack was yet to be ascertained as clearance operations were still ongoing in the area at the time of filing this report. They added that security forces had since dominated the general area to prevent further attacks and restore normalcy to the affected community. Further updates are expected as operations continue.
