On 24 April 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an assault brigade and a UAV regiment (coded to Lyman town) near Borova, Kharkiv. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: 14 vehicles, and an artillery piece, 4 ammo depots and up to 190 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Velyka Shapkivka, Borova, Novoserhiivka, Palamarivka, Shyikivka, Lyman, Tetyanivka and Svyatohirsk [Russian MoD reported 190 fatalities.
