On 24 April 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'Center' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of a mechanized brigade, an airmobile brigade, 2 UAV systems brigades and 3 National Guard brigades (coded to Bilytske) near Shevchenko, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: 2 electronic warfare stations and up to 310 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Shevchenko, Svitle, Serhiivka, Rubizhne, Bilytske, Novotoretske, Vesele, Novopidhorodne and Novopavlivka [Russian MoD reported 310 fatalities.
