On 20 April 2026, suspected Malay Muslim separatists detonated an improvised explosive device targeting a ranger unit convoy on Highway 410 in Tanopute village, Tano Pute, Bannang Sata (Yala), injuring seven personnel after a gas-cylinder bomb weighing about 80 kg exploded beneath the road as their armored pickup passed.
