On 20 April 2026, Ukrainian drones struck the Oktyabrskiy district of Rostov Oblast, including near Persianovskii (coded as Kamenolomni, Oktyabrskiy, Rostov). The drone strike disrupted the railway contact network, suspending movement of 3 trains in the northern direction near Novocherkassk station and 4 trains in the southern direction near Kamenolomni station. Power was later restored and train movement resumed. No casualties. Russian military also shot down more than 40 drones across Taganrog and 11 districts of Rostov Oblast.

A Ukrainian drone strike hit railway infrastructure near Persianovskii in Russia’s Rostov region, disrupting train traffic after damage to contact power lines. The site lies near a military unit and logistics facilities.
