On 19 April 2026, JNIM claimed to have targeted a volunteer fighters (VDP) patrol, using an IED, in the village of Bani (Thiou, Yatenga, Nord). JNIM published a photograph of a motorcycle that was destroyed in the explosion. Casualties unknown.
