On 18 April 2026, as per FARDC, M23 carried out drone strikes on FARDC positions and residential areas in the villages of Kakenge (Mwenga, Sud-Kivu), Mikenge and Point Zero. At least, 4 civilians were killed and 8 others were injured, mainly women and children. 4 fatalities split into 3 locations, coded as 1 for this event. These strikes occurred less than 24 hours after the signing of the memorandum between the DRC and the M23 during the talks in Montreux, Switzerland (coded separately).
