Heavy fighting is taking place near Waw Lay Myaing, south of Myawaddy in Kayin State, as the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and joint forces launched an assault to capture the junta’s Htee Thae Lel base around 6:00 AM on April 25.

According to a Karen military source, at least 20 military personnel, including both officers and soldiers, have been captured in this battle, and there have also been fatalities.

The junta's Htee Thae Lel strategic base is secured by six surrounding outposts. Revolutionary forces are currently conducting simultaneous close-range attacks on both these outposts and the main strategic base.
