A military outpost stationed inside the monastery compound in Aung Chan Thar village, Thit Kyein village tract, southeastern Lewe Township, Naypyidaw, was attacked by joint revolutionary forces, resulting in military casualties, according to local sources.
Early on the morning of April 22, PDF and joint forces launched a surprise attack. It is reported that several military personnel, including Major Tun Tun Lin, were killed, while others, including Lieutenant Colonel Than Nyein, abandoned the camp and fled.
A source familiar with the attack on the outpost stated: "The attack occurred early in the morning. The targeted base is known to be a joint security outpost of Light Infantry Battalion 411 based in Lewe Township."
As soldiers fled the attack, joint revolutionary forces seized weapons left behind at the outpost, including one MA-9 rifle, one MA-3 rifle, and two MA-11 rifles.
