Yesterday (April 22), the military bombed and fired machine guns from an aircraft at a procession of novice monk candidates (Shinpyu) in Nat Gyi village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. Locals reported that a 15-year-old child was killed and over a dozen others were injured.

Nat Gyi village is located about 15 miles from Ngazun town on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River. The Township People's Defense Organization (PDO) stated that the military's air attack began around 4:00 PM, hitting the Shinpyu procession and civilians in nearby homes.
