24th April 2026
On Friday, April 24, a powerful explosion rocked the Pichincha Military Canton in southern Cali after a bus loaded with explosive devices detonated in front of the Third Brigade headquarters. The Colombian Army attributed the attack to the 'Jaime Martínez' structure, a faction linked to FARC dissidents commanded by alias "Iván Mordisco." The blast left two women injured and caused significant material damage to the facilities. Security forces have launched operations in the area, where additional explosive devices were discovered and are being safely neutralized. Authorities are offering substantial rewards for information leading to the identification and capture of those responsible.
