Local sources report that the military junta used jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft to drop numerous bombs on villages in Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State—an area currently controlled by the Arakha Army (AA)—today (April 22).

The aerial bombardment began after 2:00 PM today, targeting the vicinity of Ar Kar Taung and Wae Gyi Daung villages in the Pi Chaung region. U Myat Tun, director of the Arakan Human Rights Defenders and Promoters Association, told Mizzima that casualties and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
