Troops Respond to Terror Activity, Restore Traffic Flow in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have responded to reported terrorist activity along the Magumeri–Gubio road in Borno State, restoring normal traffic flow after suspected insurgents set two vehicles ablaze.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. on April 24 when troops of 109 Special Forces Battalion, in conjunction with 149 Battalion, acted on credible intelligence about terrorists moving on motorcycles around Madamari village.

The sources said the troops, supported by forest guards and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), immediately mobilised and advanced to the area on a fighting patrol.

On arrival at Madamari, the troops discovered that two Toyota pickup vans conveying cement, grains and kitchen utensils had been set on fire by the terrorists.
