Chinese Driver in Bavet Rams Police Vehicle, Gets Tires Shot Out A Chinese national hit a motorbike in Bavet this morning, fled the scene, rammed a police vehicle when officers tried to intercept, and was finally stopped after police shot out his tires. Svay Rieng provincial police commissioner Pich Vireak says officers first set up a roadblock at Thnang village in Bati commune around 11:40am. The driver blew through it and slammed into a police vehicle as he sped past. He kept going into the next district over, Chantrea, where officers caught up to him outside district hall. He swerved wildly, hit an officer, and rammed the police car again, damaging its front end. Officers then opened fire on the tires and arrested him. The suspect was handed over to Bavet city police for legal proceedings. No word yet on the condition of the motorbike rider or the officer he hit.
