CBRN event in Bangladesh on Sun 26th April 2026
26th April 2026
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have recovered four abandoned tear gas grenades, believed to have been looted from police custody, from Kamrangirchar in Dhaka on Saturday night (April 25). RAB-10 said the recovery was made around 11:00pm during a raid conducted on the basis of a tip-off in a bushy area near a jute mill adjacent to the Buriganga riverbank in Nayagaon. The grenades were found abandoned and later handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. Law enforcement officials said a number of weapons and ammunition were looted from police stations during the July uprising in 2024, raising concerns that such explosives could be used in criminal or subversive activities. RAB has since intensified operations to recover the missing arms and explosives. RAB-10 also said it continues regular intelligence monitoring and operations to ensure public safety and prevent any acts of sabotage.
