Ministry of Home Affairs/ Nay pyi taw / April 20, 2026 In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses. Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 April 2026 at 6:00 AM, U Min Thant (38 years old), a resident of Kan Swal Gyi Village in Salin Township of Magway Region, was travelling by motorcycle to Ywar Mat Village. When he reached an area between Kyu Wun Village and Thal Bot Village about one mile south of Kan Swal Gyi Village, an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists exploded on the roadside. As a result, U Min Thant died on the spot, it is reported. Similarly, at 3:50 PM, on the same day, while U Soe Thiha (45 years old), a resident of Mone Village in Kyaukgyi Township of Bago Region, was walking near Mone creek about two furlongs west of the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by a combined group of KNU and so-called PDF terrorists. As a result, U Soe Thiha died on the spot, it is reported. Similarly, at 12:30 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as U Myint Soe Hlaing (55 years old), a resident of Yone Pin Village in Patheingyi Township. According to the investigation, at 9:00 AM, on the same day, while the victim was working in a mango plantation near the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported. Similarly, at 1:30 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Ko Paing Zin Oo (21 years old), a resident of Shwe Kyin Village in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region. According to the investigation, on 15 April 2026 at 10:00 AM, while the victim was working in a sesame plantation near Thar Nar Village about two miles north of Wetlet Town, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported. It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
