On April 16, an operative of the Bishnoi crime syndicate was injured in a Police encounter and three members of his backup team were arrested with foreign-made weapons and live cartridges in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, reports The Tribune. Sriganganagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Hari Shankar Yadav said Inspector Subhash Chandra Dheels team blocked a road near a bypass area early morning. The suspect, identified as Sanjeev Chadar alias Sanju (30), a resident of Roranwali, Hindumalkot, opened fire at Police when stopped. In retaliatory firing, he sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was taken to hospital. SP said a 7.62 mm pistol; magazine and cartridges were recovered.
