The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in a late-night intelligence-based operation killed two wanted terrorists near the Regi Northern Bypass in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on April 15, reports Dawn. Police said the CTD conducted the operation on a tip-off and set up an ambush point in the area. During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the CTD personnel and the terrorists, in which two terrorists, identified as Abbas and Usman, were killed. Officials said the terrorists were involved in the killing of CTD constable Sanaullah. Abbas, in particular, was wanted in 11 terrorism cases, including the incidents that resulted in the deaths of five Police personnel and injuries to more than a dozen others. The CTD also recovered the mobile phone of constable Sanaullah from Abbass possession. Meanwhile, other accomplices of the terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
