15th April 2026
On April 15, a 21-year-old gun supplier was arrested after a shootout with the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) near Bandhwari in Gurugram District of Haryana, reports Hindustan Times. The accused supplied foreign-made pistols, suspected to have been smuggled through the Punjab international border, to three shooters linked to gangster Deepak Nandal, who had opened fire outside a fashion designers office in Sector 26A on February 18 as part of an extortion attempt. An FIR was registered at DLF Phase-I PS after Nandal claimed responsibility on social media. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Preet Pal Sangwan said the accused fired four rounds at the STF team; in retaliatory fire, he sustained a leg injury and was arrested. Police recovered a country-made pistol, live and empty cartridges, and a motorcycle. A fresh FIR under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act was registered. He will be formally arrested after discharge and taken on remand.
