Police officers detained a man who fired shots into the air from a starting pistol in Chernihiv on April 19.

Literally : "This afternoon, the police received a report of shots fired on one of the streets of Chernihiv. Patrol officers and an investigative and operational group immediately arrived at the scene.

Law enforcement officers determined that two men with signs of alcohol intoxication were walking down the street, and one of them fired several shots into the air from a starting pistol. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Police officers promptly detained a 23-year-old man in accordance with Art. 298-2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The weapon was seized, the motives for the crime are being established."

Details : Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). A report of suspicion is currently being prepared.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
