On 17 April 2026, for a second day in a row, Russian forces continued carrying out drone strikes, fired artillery and MLRS at the residential area in Zaporizhia city and Zaporizkyi district, Zaporizhia. As a result, 7 civilians, including a 7-year-old boy (with an acute stress reaction) were injured. The fires broke out, several residential buildings, private houses and cars were damaged in three districts of the city. In total, 10 civilians were injured in the Zaporizhia city and Zaporizkyi district. Moreover, a regional military administration received 83 reports of damage to infrastructure, housing and cars in the Zaporizhia region.
