On 17 April 2026, according to Russian sources, a Ukrainian drone struck a group of electricians as they moved on duty vehicle in the Svativskyi district (coded to the Russian-held Svatove town, Luhansk). As a result, 1 electrician was injured and admitted to a hospital. Furthermore, according to Russian sources, since the beginning of war, 24 employees of energy companies that were part of the South-Western Power Supply Company have been killed by strikes by Ukrainian Forces, and 71 more employees have been injured.
