On 13 April 2026, in the evening, an explosion occurred near a private house in Brovary town, Kyiv. As a result, a 36-year-old man was slightly injured and received medical assistance on the spot. Following the explosion, the police apprehended 2 suspects (a 23-year-old resident of Brovary and a 17-year-old resident of Chernivtsi region). According to investigation, the suspects used an IED that was planted near the fence and activated remotely, via a phone call. The suspects acted on the instructions of representatives of the Russian Special Services (GRU), who promised them a monetary reward. One of them directly planted the explosives, and the other was responsible for video recording the event. Also, during the searches, mobile phones, SIM cards, elements of an explosive device, electric matches, and clothing that were likely used in the preparation of the crime were seized from the suspects.
