Two people were injured after an explosion at a chemical plant in Ottawa Tuesday morning. According to the Ottawa Fire Department, crews were called to the Coogee chemical plant just before 8 a.m. Crews said one of the two injured stayed inside the plant while the other went to a nearby office building. Fire crews fought the magnesium fire with dry chemical agents as water could have made things worse. Next, they aired the place out to expel dangerous gasses. Structural damage to the plant was minimal, but crews said operations are halted for the time being, as authorities work to learn more.
