On 13 April 2026, a Nigerien army truck carrying dozens of soldiers was hit by an IED explosion planted by JNIM militants, between Belkab and Samira Koira Kano, coded to Samira Koira Kano (Gotheye, Gotheye, Tillaberi). Casualties unknown. JNIM claimed the attack and published a video of it on 13 April 2026.
