On 9 June 2021, ISWAP fighters launched a mortar attack against a Nigerian army camp and an IED explosion in Malam Fatori (Abadam/Abadan LGA, Borno), wounding a number of soldiers at the camp and killing troops inside the vehicle. Property damage also reported. Unknown fatalities coded as 3.
