On 5 April 2026, in Nyaung Kan village (Budalin township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted drone strikes and dropped four bombs on the village using four suicide drones coming from the Monywa-based Northwest Regional Military Command at around 12:30 pm. 2 civilians (a 65-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman) sustained critical injuries.
