An official from the Karen Peace Support Network stated that a bomb fell and exploded on the Thai side of the border during a military dictatorship airstrike targeting a hospital and religious buildings in Hpapun District, Kayin State.

At around 12:00 PM on April 20, the military used Yak-130 and MiG-29 jet fighters to drop 10 bombs on the KNU hospital and nearby homes in U Moo Hta Village, located on the banks of the Salween River in Bu Tho Township, Hpapun (Mutraw) District—a territory of KNU Brigade 5.

Saw Alex, the media liaison for the Karen Peace Support Network (KPSN), confirmed that one of the bombs from the attack landed and exploded inside Thailand.
