On 6 April 2026, at night, Russian forces carried out massive kamikaze-drone strikes at the residential areas in the Primorskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Odesa city, Odesa. Following the drones strikes, 3 civilians were killed (a 30-year-old woman, her 2.6-year-old daughter, and another 53-year-old woman), 15 more were injured, including a pregnant woman and two young children (a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl). Also, 13 high-rise buildings, more than 52 private houses, a store, a private kindergarten, and 27 cars were damaged, 7 houses were completely destroyed. As a result of the drone strikes, a 'DTEK' power plant was also damaged leaving 16.7 thousand households without electricity in the Primorskyi, Hadzhibeyskyi and Kyivskyi districts of the city.
