On 5 April 2026, morning, UAE forces intercepted an unspecified number of missiles launched by IRGC forces targeting the Borouge petrochemicals plant in ADNOC Al Ruwais Industrial City (Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi). As a result of the interception, shrapnel fell causing several fires and the suspension of operations at the facility. There were no casualties. The IRGC claimed the attack, stating it targeted a US petrochemical site there.
