On 5 April 2026, an IED planted by likely Boko Haram (JAS) militants due to their activity in the area, and described as 'terrorist', exploded when a truck stepped on it along the Lumma-Babbana road coded to the nearest most populated area Kubli (Borgu, Niger). The driver was killed, the attackers also shot dead a motorcyclist. The explosion occurred on a temporary route created after the destruction of a major bridge linking several communities. There were 2 fatalities.
