On 7 April 2026, unidentified assailants fired a suspected rocket which exploded at a residence within Tronglaobi Awang Leikai area in Tronglaobi village (Bishnupur, Manipur) killing 2 minors and injuring their mother amidst ongoing violence between Meitei and Tribal communities in the state. A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) fitted with wire and a battery-like object was spotted planted near the incident site and later safely set off. During a search operation the next day, 3 suspected UKNA cadres were arrested with an AK-47, a pistol with ammunition, and cash, however, it is unclear whether they were involved. Some locals claimed of the involvement of armed Kuki assailants due to the village's location in the Bishnupur-Churachandpur border area. ITLF denied the possibility of this claim stating that the nearest Kuki village was abandoned during the onset of the conflict and currently occupied by CRPF personnel. Total 2 fatalities.
