On 4 April 2026, morning, US and/or Israeli forces struck the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Zone (Central, Bandar e Mahshahr, Khuzestan (coded as air/drone strikes by default), causing at least 3 explosions. According to the local sources, 'there might have been civilian casualties', and fires broke out at the premises. The buildings of Razi Petrochemical Complex, Karun, Bandar Imam, Fajr 1 and 2, Abu Ali, Rijal, and Amir Kabir petrochemical companies were severely damaged. Israel and the United States launched a joint operation codenamed 'Roaring Lion' by Israel and 'Epic Fury' by the United States on 28 February 2026. According to the local sources, 5 people were injured in attacks on Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Zone and Bandar e Emam Khomeyni. Overall casualties unknown.
