On 7 April 2026, projectiles launched by an unidentified armed group (likely linked to Iranian-backed groups due to ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran) toward Baghdad International Airport (likely US forces stationed at the airport) struck residential areas of Baghdad - Rusafa city (Baghdad), hitting a house on Al Munadhama Street in Al Amiriyya neighborhood and killing two civilians (a child and his father). Also, a projectile fell on Al Asal Street in the same neighborhood. These rockets were likely launched from Hor Rajab area south of Baghdad, near Al Ahmadain roundabout. Security forces opened an investigation. 2 fatalities.
