On 6 April 2026, in a rural area of El Tarra municipality (Norte de Santander), unidentified suspects attacked a police station in the Cuatro Esquinas vereda with a drone loaded with explosives, killing one person and injuring at least two other. The premises were partially damaged and a nearby house caught fire and burned. Although the perpetrators behind the attack are unknown, the area is known for the presence of armed groups. 1 fatality.
