Four killed as armed men attack Gidan Daji village in Maru LGA By: Zagazola Makama At least four persons have been confirmed dead following an attack by armed men on Gidan Daji village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara. Security sources said the incident occurred on April 16 at about 1930 hrs when the attackers, reportedly riding on multiple motorcycles, stormed the community and opened fire on residents. The assailants were said to have moved through parts of the village, shooting sporadically before fleeing the scene after the attack. Following distress calls, troops of Sector 2 under Operation Fansan Yamma, in collaboration with other security agencies, mobilised to the location to restore order. The sources said the security teams evacuated the bodies of the deceased victims after stabilising the area, while ensuring calm was restored in the community. Efforts are currently ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing attackers, with intensified patrols and follow-up operations underway across surrounding communities and forest routes believed to be used by the assailants.
