Stepfather Kills Student Home for Khmer New Year in Sihanoukville, Shot Dead by Police A university student who had come home from Siem Reap for Khmer New Year was stabbed to death by her stepfather on Friday morning in Sihanoukville. Khmer-language reports say the attack started over jealousy after the stepfather caught the girl's mother messaging her ex-husband. The attack happened in Khlang Leu commune, Sangkat 1. He turned on both women. The daughter died at the scene. Her mother was left with serious injuries. When police arrived, the stepfather resisted. Officers shot him. He died from the gunfire.
