Troops repel suspected terrorists in Zamfara community By: Zagazola Makama Troops of 1 Brigade Counter Terrorism Unit, supported by a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) and local vigilantes, have repelled suspected terrorists in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Security sources said the incident occurred at about 1:26 a.m. on April 14 following reports of terrorist activities in Wanke community. According to the sources, the troops swiftly responded to the distress call and mobilised to the area. “On sighting the troops, the terrorists fled the scene, abandoning their operation,” the sources said. They added that troops have continued to dominate the general area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents of their safety.
