On the night of April 16, the enemy attacked Kyiv and the regions with missiles, explosions rang out in the capital, fires broke out, a child and a woman died, and there were victims, including doctors who had gone on call.

Details : An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv at 2:31.

Anxiety has also spread to a number of regions.

The Air Force noted: "Threat of the use of ballistic weapons."

Later, the head of the KMVA, Timur Tkachenko, wrote on social networks: "The enemy is attacking the capital with missiles. Stay in shelters until the end of the day!"

Klitschko informed about the explosions and the work of air defense in the capital.

The Air Force reported "high-speed targets" in the direction of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi, and Cherkasy.

Updated : At 2:47, Klitschko noted "a call for doctors to the Shevchenko district of the capital."

Direct speech by Tkachenko at 2:51: "We are recording the consequences of an enemy strike in the Obolon district. There are preliminary casualties. The information is being clarified."

Details : Tkachenko later reported damage in the Podilskyi district.

Klitschko's direct speech : "In the Podilskyi district, a non-residential building was hit.

There is also falling debris at several locations. At one of them, there is a fire.

In Obolonsky, debris falls (preliminarily from a rocket).

Emergency services are on their way to the scene."

Tkachenko's direct speech : "At another address in the Podilskyi district, a fire broke out in a residential building on the first floor as a result of the attack."

Details : At 3:06 a.m. Tkachenko reported that four people were currently known to have been injured in the Russian attack, including a child .

According to Klitschko, in the Podilskyi district, rocket fragments hit the sixth floor of a 16-story building.

Klitschko's direct speech at 3:19: " According to preliminary information, a 12-year-old child died in the Podilskyi district .

Several people were injured. Medics are currently providing assistance."
Details : Klitschko also reported that a large fire broke out in a non-residential building in the Obolonsky district at the site of the rocket debris fall, and cars are burning.

Klitschko's direct speech : "There are four wounded medics in Obolon who went on call."

Details: At 3:30 Tkachenko reported 7 wounded.

Klitschko's direct speech : "A 12-year-old child died as a result of the enemy's attack on the capital.

So far, 10 people have been injured, including several medics.

Calls to doctors continue to come in.

"The brigades are providing assistance."

"In the Podilskyi district, where the first floor of a private residential building was destroyed, a child was pulled from under the rubble. Rescuers are now searching for her mother under the rubble."

Tkachenko's direct speech : " The rescued child and his mother were handed over to the doctors."

Details : Tkachenko later reported 13 wounded in Kyiv as a result of Russian missile strikes.

After 4 a.m., Klitschko reported that the death toll had risen to two.

Klitschko's direct speech : "As a result of the enemy's attack on the capital, two people died - a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman.

"10 residents of the city were injured. Doctors hospitalized 6 victims. The rest were provided with assistance on the spot and on an outpatient basis."

Details : After 4:30, Tkachenko noted that the number of victims had increased to 18, including a child.
