Mingun town police station and town‑out‑gate military checkpoint hit by drone bombing, 2 military personnel killed and 1 deputy police chief seriously wounded.

Ko Myat, the information and spokesperson of Tharrawaddy District No. 4 Battalion, told the New Era News Agency in Yangon that Mingun town’s town police station and the town‑out Micro Wave military checkpoint were bombed by drones, killing 2 junta personnel and leaving 1 deputy police chief seriously wounded.

It is reported that, on April 14, at around 8:50 a.m., drone units under Tharrawaddy District Command, Tharrawaddy District No. 4 Battalion, simultaneously dropped bombs and attacked the town police station and the Mingun Micro Wave military checkpoint at the western exit of Mingun town.

During that attack, 1 police officer from the Mingun police station was killed and 1 deputy police chief was seriously wounded, and 1 soldier from the Micro Wave military checkpoint was also killed, with many others injured and then transported to Mingun hospital for treatment.

Ko Myat said:

“What we attacked yesterday was the Mingun town police station and the military checkpoint at the Micro Wave gate to the west side of Mingun town. We used eight homemade bombs thrown by drone to hit those targets. Our main objective was that, even though the brutal junta tries to create a fake image of peace and normality in the urban neighborhoods it controls, while it continues to drop bombs from aircraft and kill civilians, we have chosen to primarily target the military objectives and strongholds of the junta.”

He added that, depending on the situation, Tharrawaddy District No. 4 Battalion will continue to select and attack only the military targets of the junta, and urged local civilians that they can freely continue to celebrate the Thingyan festival and pass through the New Year period joyfully.
