Htee Htaw and Wai Lek township border area, Pwe So Htee villages fiercely engaged in heavy fighting as the military conducts repeated airstrikes with fighter jets and Y‑12 aircraft.

Yangon, April 15

According to local sources quoted by the New Era News Agency in Yangon, fierce fighting is ongoing in the Pwe So Htee villages along the border between Htee Htaw Township and Wai Lek Township, Sagaing Region, and the military junta has been repeatedly bombing the area with fighter jets and Y‑12 aircraft.

From the early morning of April 15, intense clashes have been reported in Tharay‑bar Pwe So Htee village, Ngwe‑dwin Pwe So Htee village, and Set‑dwin Pwe So Htee village, and the military is said to be carrying out repeated bombing runs with fighter jets and Y‑12 aircraft over the places where these clashes are occurring.

The fighting is still ongoing as of the current time, and it is reported that the junta’s drones and aircraft continue to circle in the sky; in addition, the military is also said to be continuously shelling nearby villages with heavy weapons.

A local source stated:

“The fighting is still going on, and the junta fighter jets have been bombing since early morning. Both fighter jets and Y‑12 aircraft have been dropping bombs, and the Y‑12s have dropped almost about 100 times. The artillery is also firing continuously. The drones from the resistance side and the junta side are bombing back and forth. The sounds of artillery explosions and small‑arms fire can still be heard.”

Junta Telegram channels have also written that intense fighting is ongoing in Set‑dwin Pwe So Htee village and Tharay‑bar Pwe So Htee village, Htee Htaw Township.
