Mizzima – Deputy Battalion Commander Ko Kyi Kyi of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) Tharrawaddy District No. 3801 Battalion said in the morning that, by this morning (April 8), the Tatmadaw has been carrying out aerial bombing attacks on the eastern villages of Nattalin Township, and that fierce fighting is still ongoing.

He added that fighting is currently under way and therefore he cannot yet provide detailed information.

Another male member of the revolutionary forces based in Nattalin said the Tatmadaw has spread out its columns and is advancing into the eastern part of the township.

“On the Dami‑nye side, they haven’t withdrawn yet; at the moment they are in a dispersed‑advance posture,” he said.

He continued:

“The fighting is happening in a way that looks like they want to retake the area. The advance is in a fanned‑out line, and then they push in from several sides at once to encircle us. On the 6th they came up with a paraglider motorbike all the way. They used drones. There were heavy bombardments from Pawntaung camp with many Hong‑wi‑za shells. There are about three or four front lines now; they are advancing and encircling us.”

He said the revolutionary forces can likely close the routes from Pawntaung heading toward the Nattalin side.

“From Pawntaung to this side, the pathways into the Nattalin area at Kyaung‑hswe, Kyaung‑hkwe, Man‑kyin‑pyin, Kam‑pone, and Magway‑side have been blocked. They will block them by tomorrow; they will keep them closed for about five days. The blocking has been continuous since the fighting started, and now they are just saying they will extend it and keep it closed,” the above‑mentioned Nattalin‑based revolutionary fighter said.

He explained that the western‑Bago‑Region revolutionary forces, which are armed and resisting along the Bago highway, have grown stronger, so since December 2025 Tatmadaw columns have been advancing into the eastern‑village belt of Nattalin Township, which has made the local fighting intense.

Because of this, a local Nattalin woman who is helping the displaced civilians said that at present over ten thousand villagers from 16 villages or more – including Kun‑thar‑ya, Pa‑Ma‑Kham, Zan‑Gyi‑laung, Kyaung‑hswe, Kyaung‑hkwe, Shay‑Say‑paw, Phal‑at‑pin, Shay‑yay‑Kin‑ro, Ngyaung‑wai, Htan‑to, O‑pho‑kone, Yay‑nwe‑kone, Lay‑ma‑Inn, Ban‑bywei‑kone, Chaung‑Kam‑gyi, and Sathar‑kone – are sheltering from the war and displaced.
